Pol Roger Rosé Vintage 2008

What we love:
Pol Roger continues to riddle all its production by hand. With 4 full-time riddlers, Pol Roger employs half of the remaining professional riddlers still in activity in Champagne today.

Why to buy: 
Forget about the Apéritif and sit down to dinner with this winy Champagne!  The Pol Roger family has made the choice to focus on just one and very bold rosé produced in vintage years only.

Taste:
Fine aromas of raspberry, redcurrant and almond. The wine reveals with time notes of wild strawberry. An outstanding balance of freshness, elegant structure and intensity of flavour. Yummi!

Vinification:
70% Pinot Noir (15% being vinified as a red wine) & 30% Chardonnay. Aged 7 years in cellar. Riddling by hand. Dosage 8 g/l.

Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve

What we love:
The wines comprises an extreme proportion of reserve wine (40%) , representing an average of 10 years of aging.

Why to buy:
Not only in the vintage champagne goes for complexity – also the Brut Réserve. Réserve wines are integrated into the Cuvée and give high complexity.

Taste:
Brioche, apricot and ripe stone fruits – minerality. Creamy texture, long-lasting bubbles. Vivid acidity and huge freshness. Top elegance and lushness.

Vinification:
40 % Reserve wines (50% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay) and 60 % wines of the harvest year (1/3 of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier). Aged years in chalk cellars. Dosage 11 g/l.

Charles-Heidsieck-Brut-Reserve

Drappier Carte d’Or

What we love:
The wines are made with respect for their characteristics, with neither discoloration nor filtration and very low sulphites addition, in this way, allowing the wine to express itself.

Why to buy:
This champagne is only very weakly sulphurized and not filtered. Nonetheless, this champagne is in its depth and complexity at a very high level.

Taste:
Great aromatic richness with stone fruits such as white vineyard peaches. A spicy note emerges. Touch of quince jelly. Powerful and complex mouthfeel. 

Vinification:
Pinot Noir 80%, Chardonnay 15%, Pinot Meunier 5%. Very little sulphur. Non-filtered. Reserve wines 40%. Dosage: 6,5 g/l.

POMMERY Rosé Apanage

What we love:
This champagne is a tribute to Madame Pommery, pioneer of the Pommery brand. A strong and fair woman. More power please!

Why to buy:
Madame Pommery’s passion: Roses. This champagne is a great translation of roses full of passion, strength and balance.

Taste:
Ripe fruit of oranges, lemon zest, candy and pepper. Toasty aromas with bitter orange jam and salt butter. Fine mousse and powerful finish. Beautiful aroma of apricot roses.

Vinification:
42 % Chardonnay, 33 % Pinot Noir, 25 % Meunier. Dosage: 12 g/l.

POMMERY-Rosé-Apanage

Philipponnat Royale Reserve Non Dose

What we love:
The solera process. It consists of keeping reserve wines in oak barrels and including them in non-vintage blends and using this blend as a reserve wine for the following blend.

Why to buy:
This champagne has no dosage. Initially bone dry, but then pulls through full bodied. Summer champagne.

Taste:
Linden, vine flowers and hawthorn. Pure, very straight attack with citrus and apple. Finishes with more brioche.

Vinification:
65% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier. 30-40%. Réserve wines out of the solera process. No Dosage: 0 g/l.
