Pol Roger Rosé Vintage 2008

What we love:
Pol Roger continues to riddle all its production by hand. With 4 full-time riddlers, Pol Roger employs half of the remaining professional riddlers still in activity in Champagne today.

Why to buy:
Forget about the Apéritif and sit down to dinner with this winy Champagne!  The Pol Roger family has made the choice to focus on just one and very bold rosé produced in vintage years only.

Taste:
Fine aromas of raspberry, redcurrant and almond. The wine reveals with time notes of wild strawberry. An outstanding balance of freshness, elegant structure and intensity of flavour. Yummi!

Vinification:
70% Pinot Noir (15% being vinified as a red wine) & 30% Chardonnay. Aged 7 years in cellar. Riddling by hand. Dosage 8 g/l.

Drappier Carte d’Or

What we love:
The wines are made with respect for their characteristics, with neither discoloration nor filtration and very low sulphites addition, in this way, allowing the wine to express itself.

Why to buy:
This champagne is only very weakly sulphurized and not filtered. Nonetheless, this champagne is in its depth and complexity at a very high level.

Taste:
Great aromatic richness with stone fruits such as white vineyard peaches. A spicy note emerges. Touch of quince jelly. Powerful and complex mouthfeel.

Vinification:
Pinot Noir 80%, Chardonnay 15%, Pinot Meunier 5%. Very little sulphur. Non-filtered. Reserve wines 40%. Dosage: 6,5 g/l.

Philipponnat Royale Reserve Non Dose

What we love:
The solera process. It consists of keeping reserve wines in oak barrels and including them in non-vintage blends and using this blend as a reserve wine for the following blend.

This champagne has no dosage. Initially bone dry, but then pulls through full bodied. Summer champagne.

Taste:
Linden, vine flowers and hawthorn. Pure, very straight attack with citrus and apple. Finishes with more brioche.

65% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier. 30-40%. Réserve wines out of the solera process. No Dosage: 0 g/l.
